Parker is coming...

Can you believe that tomarrow at 1pm I am going in to have him?  The time has gone by so fast and I am so ready.  Thank you all for your good luck e-mails.  Sorry I have been MIA this week - I have been lacking the energy and so busy trying to get things together  at work and at home.  Once I am in a room tomarrow Mike will call Nicole and she will let you all know the stats!  And I will be back next week to post pics.  We should be home on Monday afternoon.

Wish me luck!  I will be a mother of 2 next time I talk to you!

Lessons

And now, a list of the things that I've learned (the hard way, of course) in the last 12 hours:

  • Even though they're begging for it, it's not always wise to give milk to a snotty/phlegmy kid
  • Milk causes coughing
  • Lots of it
  • So much that it can make your baby barf
  • All over the scrapbook of table camera photos from your wedding
  • And that damn creepy life size Dora the Explorer doll
  • The best toddler barf-catcher? A towel! Or in a pinch, the bathroom rug! Who would've thunk?
  • Your toddler will probably go ape shit crazy when she sees you put creepy barfy Dora doll in the washer
  • Don't bother telling her that "Dora is getting a bath" because she totally won't believe you
  • Bllleeeeeeh. It's been a day.

    Bark Collars. Yea or Nay?

So I have a dilemma.  It has been reported to us that our 2 small doggers have been causing quite the ruckus when we are not at home.  Excessively barking.  I know that they get worked up whenever anyone passed by the house, but I guess I didn't think that they really carry on all day.  I know that we have one neighbor who works nights, and I am sure this has to drive him about 1/2 nuts.  I want to be a good neighbor and I want to have sane dogs.  We have open fencing that we are looking to replace, but until then, I am thinking about bark collars for the crazies (the dogs, not the neighbors).  It breaks my heart to even consider this, but I think the time has come and it is a necessary evil.  As it is now, I have to keep them locked in our Atrium during the day to keep them quiet.  This is a very small space with no grass or room to romp.  I would so love to have them on the side yard where they can lounge and play.  What do you think?

    Piggy on the Back

It's all the craze, don't ya know? This is Maddie's newest thing! Everyday when Alan gets home from work she says "hi dadddddddddy!" and then immediately says "piggy on the back"... also known to the rest of us as a piggyback. Seriously, it's the cutest thing ever. Poor Alan, I'm sure he'll have a broken back soon from carting the kid around every night because she's not quite big enough to hang on as much as she should so he's working overtime making sure she's safe.

The other thing she's into lately is hiding. It's all about hiding. I walk into my moms to pick her up after work and she's hiding underneath their bar area. We hear the garage door open at night and we have to get under the "blank blank blank" (aka blanket) to hide from daddy when he comes in. He comes in pretending like he has no clue where we're at (even though we're sitting on the couch under a big blanket pile and loudly asks "where's Maddie, where's she at" and inevitably she can't keep quiet and always says "whaaaattttt"!

    I love this kid!

    She's a Big Girl Now

Every morning when I drop Marley off to school I get a big hug and a kiss, more than likely I will get 2 big hugs and kisses.  We walk into the class room, I sign her in and I get my kisses and leave.  This morning was not the same.  Everything started out the same, except when I turned around from signing her in, she was not there for my hugs and kisses.  She was across the room with some friends.  It wasn't until she saw the pained look on my face that she came over and gave me 1 quick kiss and a kinda half hug.  It made me a little blue.  I know there will be a day, hopefully not too soon, that my hugs and kisses will become embarrassing to a BIG GIRL.  Until then, I am going to guilt her into every hug and kiss I can get!

    Vintage

So, I was getting my hair done this past Friday and was waiting for my stylist to come and get me.  I was sitting on the couch, checking out the magazines to see if there was anything good to read and came across one of those "short haircuts" books (or Short Kutz, yo!) that must've been at least 15 years old.  Talk about current, huh?  There was the prettiest model on the cover.  So pretty that I had to take a picture and post it here.

    Photo_24

Oh wait, OMG!  It's Andrea!  She's the cover model, haha!  Anyhow, she looks good, no?  I just had to share with you all.

::::::::and now I sit here and wait for her to send me a nasty email asking why I posted this on here:::::::::

    Swelling

The swelling has begun!  Ugh!  My feet ache and are so huge.  Today I wore flip flops to work because I couldn't imagine my feet crammed into shoes again.  I am finally out of my wedding ring and I feel like my face is full.  Considering I only have a week and a 1/2 left I am in good shape since it just started.  With Abbie I started swelling about a month before I had her.  This is the part of pg that sucks.. you are overtired, run down, achey, aren't sleeping and your limbs ache.  sigh... I want him out so I feel better and I want him out because I am so over anxious to meet my little boy.  I have been really emotional about it lately- remembering how it was having Abbie- those emotions that took over for both Mike and I and how the whole world seemed to fade away except for the 3 of us when we held her for the first time.  I wonder if it will feel the same way the 2nd time around.  I hope that Abbie loves her brother...  It is so hard to believe that our little family unit will be that much more fulfilled in just 9 days.
