Parker is 2 months old today! Can you believe it? And he has experienced so much in that short time here with us. Luckily he is now healthy and happy! he is a big boy weighing in at 12.4 pounds (Abbie was 1.5 punds lighter at this age) and is already wearing 3 and 6 month clothes and wearing size 2 diapers. He is a big chubby adorable boy! I love him so much!! He is a good natured baby and is now smiling and cooing and making the begining of laughing sounds. He loves to listen to his big sister sing and boy can he eat!
We are so greatful for our little angel...
...Parker we love you so much and we are so blessed that you are ours!
So remember when I was torn over weather getting the bark collars for my two little monsters? Well, I got them and I have to say that they have been rather well behaved since we given them to them. Rosa is able to take it a little better than Jet, Jet seems to run and hide when it comes to time to put them on. They go on in the am, when I leave for work and they come off when we get home. When they come off they do bark when people walk near the fence, but nothing like what they were doing.
Today I got another letter from our Association saying, "It has been reported that dogs from your home have been barking excessively throughout the day/night. Please respect your neighbors rights to quiet enjoyment and take steps to resolve this situation." Followed by, "We are now asking that you correct this situation within 10 days from the date of this letter. (which I received this weekend, dated May 15th. It doesn't take 10 days for local mail) If the matter is not resolved, the association may take further enforcement action. (Ohhh, so scary, whacha gonna do?!?)
PULHEEEASE!! Now I have submitted a request to the association to erect a full privacy fence to keep the doggers quite, but the shot me down. My current fence is wrought iron and they will not approve anything other that wrought iron (HATE) or wood (won't last). I requested to put up a Vinyl fence. A NICE Vinyl fence, but they told me no and I refuse to spend my money on something I HATE or something that will not last.
So this is what I did. I sent a shitty letter to the association stating that I feel that they are singling us out. There are plenty of dogs who bark all day and all night (it just happens that the cow of woman who sits as President of our board doesn't walk by their house every night). Furthermore I requested that they give me specific dates and times where my animals are barking excessively. It's amazing how just a few people can make you feel so uncomfortable in your own home and unwanted in your own neighborhood. I do my best to be a good neighbor, but I am sick of this shit! Grrrr!
Some of you may know about my dislike of all things character related but guess what? We're having a Mickey/Minnie party for Maddie's birthday. Truth be told, I'm excited because she's so darn excited and loves anything that is Mickey related. Here's the invite that Alan made that we sent out (except of course the real invite that was sent out has our address, etc.). I love he way it turned out!
So Parker getting hurt couldn't be enough for this family? Now Abbie has had a fall herself...
She fell getting onto our bed yesterday am.. her leg slipped down between the side board and the mattress and her body fell backwards. Her bone broke all the way through and was displaced. They set it in the Dr's office and then put a full leg cast on. She will wear the big cast for 3 weeks and then she will wear a walking cast for 3 weeks. Because of the severity of the break we have to keep her mellow for 3 weeks and out of school during that time. I will also take her back to the Dr next week for another x-ray to make sure that the break is still in place. Lets just say this hasn't been easy for her. She is in pain and frustrated on not being able to play and do what she wants to do. I feel so bad. Neither of us has slept much in the past 24 hours and agitated would be a nice description of her attitude through it all. I just finally got her to eat this afternoon and she is currently napping- finally! I feel so bad for her.
Both by kids are broke right now. I am surprised someone hasn't called child protective services on me!
I also know that I said that I would come back on Parker's 6 week b-day and post pics. Well I am sure you are not surprised that I didn't! Opps! So here you go... pics from the last 7 weeks....
Parker is doing great! he is the best little baby! So easy and mellow. He is smiling (still working on getting a pic of it) and cooing and even making the beginnings of laughing sounds. He loves his Mommy and is growing by the second. He is now 11 pounds 12 ounces. He is my little chunky monkey!! He is recovering well and will start school on June 16th. The blood should almost all be absorbed into the brain now and his skull will be healed by the time he starts school. Thank God!
I know I am a bit late with this one, but it's been hard for me to find time to post.
I hope all of you had a very nice Mother's Day and that you took the time to pamper yourself. My morning started off with Marley coming into our room very early (forget sleeping in Mom, I'm excited!) for a family snuggle. We took our time getting out of bed and then we went over to my parent's house, where my Dad was busy making us a Mother's Day Feast!
I was then handed a Mimosa and went to relax on the couch when Dad brought over a nice plate of Shrimp Cocktail, mmmmm.
Marley was the keeper of the gifts
which included a cute "MOM" craft with Marely's picture in it from Marley and a nice pair of reef sandals from Ferdie. Nana got a nice framed picture of Miss Marley. After our beautiful meal we chilled out and watched 27 Dresses. The movie was OK, but I was expecting more. More what? I don't know, just MORE! After the movie, we did some shopping took and took a nap. I couldn't have asked for more, it was a lovely day.
Ya know, I really thought that since it is mid-May and all that we'd be done with the sickness and onto having summer fun! How wrong I was. I picked Maddie up from daycare on Monday and she had a little fever but no other symptoms. A day later she still has the same fever and still really no other symptoms. I'm pretty good with colds because at least you know what a cold will undoubtedly do... snot, cough, snot, cough, done but fevers I am so not good with especially when there are no other symptoms to be found. Alan stayed home with her today and I will be home with her tomorrow.
It's already been a weird week because I spent all of Monday at an offsite training. Now normally I might look forward to a day outside of the office but this particular training had me cooped up all day at some seedy ass hotel near Disneyland. The only bright spot was that there were a ton of characters (my nice way of saying duhhhhhh, some not so smart people) in the classroom and I got to attend with a fun co-worker which made it all bearable.
I spent some time on Saturday trying to get some good shots of Maddie for her Mickey/Minnie birthday party invite and the results were less than stellar. How do you all think the pissed off look would be for the invite?
You'll all get to see the winning pic, along with the invite, once it's finished!
I am 25 weeks, 1 day today!!! Only 14 weeks, 6 days to go (babies come exactly on their due date, right?) My only complaint so far--sleeping. Sleeping is getting more difficult (although, last night was GREAT!) I have a body pillow that helps a lot (it keeps me off my back and tummy) but my hips get so sore from laying on them all night. So for the past few weeks I have been putting a smaller pillow under my hips which works well until I have to change to the other side. Here I am at 2:00 AM trying to maneuver a large body pillow, a smaller pillow for my hip and the two pillows under my head all without waking my husband. Needless to say, I don’t do a good job of it. Then just as I am thinking that I comfortable I realize I have to go to the bathroom (I am the person who used to NEVER get up in the middle of the night to go pee—now it happens almost every night and I know it is going to get worse) and it makes me mad. So at this point I am up. What can I do? I can’t turn on the TV, or turn on the light to read so I bust out my iPhone and see what is going on at 2:00 AM. Usually not much but at least it keeps me occupied for about an hour or two until I get sleepy and fall back to sleep. I know this is just to get me ready for when little nugget comes but let me just tell you—THIS SUCKS!!! I miss my sleep. I love my sleep.
(I know you moms are laughing right now ‘cause the worse is yet to come. I totally understand that—but can’t I just get some good sleep now????)
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the mothers!!!
It wasn't long ago that we only had one type of frozen yogurt to choose from. Golden Spoon was it and it was so yummy we didn't really mind.
Then one day while on a lunch outing to Chipotle we noticed a little place called Yogurt Land. Dude. This place was the bomb diggity. Genius! Self serve frozen yogurt (there are about a million flavors!) and you put all of your own toppings on yourself. They weigh your yogurt at the cash register and you pay.
This past week I discovered that a Pinkberry opened near us so a few of us made the trek down there during lunch and oh mother this stuff is good. The weirdest part is that I can't even explain to you what the "original" flavor tastes like other than it tastes like a little piece of heaven. Their toppings are totally wacky but they work. Seriously, who puts fruity pebbles on frozen yogurt? The answer is me! Well, now I do anyhow along with yogurt chips and fresh strawberries. Here's what a piece of heaven looks like:
We also have two other Frozen Yogurt shops opening up near us just in time for Summer. What's a girl to do?
