Friday Favorites

I was going to do a favorite pictures Friday Favorites, but I just realized that 90% of my pics are on my work computer, so that won't work.  So instead I am going to do todays Friday Favorites - Web Site Style!  Below you will find my favorite sites that I visit on a regular basis and why.

PerezHilton.com - Ok this is one that I try to visit everyday!  I am obsessed with celebrity gossip and Perez is always up to date and FUN!  He cracks me up with his nicknames and drawings on the pictures.

People.com- this is my bible when it comes to celebrity gossip.  If People has it then I know it is true!  And I just read there today that Chris Noth is back to play Mr. Big in the Sex and the City movie!  Yeah!

Mortystv.com - This is my favorite Big Brother spoiler site!  I love to read what the house guests are up to every moment of the day!  Yes I need help, but so does Nicole!!  If you love Big Brother and you want to know who gets POV and whose fighting with who before they air it - this is the place!

Homeseekers.com - This is a great place to look at houses that are up for sale.  You can see pics, prices and most of the details that are on MLS.

Grocerygame - I have saved so much money on groceries since using this site. There is a fee after your first month, but so worth if you use it correctly.  I pay $7 a month and I save anywhere form $15 - $30 a week on double coupons at Vons by using these lists.  If I had to do all research myself it would take hours and I don't think I would catch everything!  It mainstreams my shopping and has helped our budget so much!

Of course I have other sites that I use on a regular basis like Bank of America, Amazon and Google, but those are pretty common.  I also love the blogs that we have listed on the left - I only wish I had more time lately to read and comment! Go over and share your love for them too! I still love you all though and will be caught up on life soon!  I promise!

What are your favorite sites?

All about the iPhone!

Today I'm going to tell you all how much and why I heart my iPhone.

This fun little gadget does so much stuff that there's no way that I could possibly cover it all, so for now I'll cover my favorite features.

My two favorite things about it?  The I can get my email and browse the web from my cell phone.  The mail client is so easy to use and is so user friendly.  The mailbox looks identical to my macmail at home and they make it so easy to reply and forward messages.  They've also found a way to streamline the size of it by having a virtual keyboard that pops up only when you need it.  It's so fun to be able to check your email anytime, anywhere and to surf the web anytime, anywhere.  My confession?  Sometimes I look at Perez Hilton if I'm at a really long red light!

The next cool thing is the voicemail.  It's great because you push the voicemail button and it shows you a list of what voicemails you have and who they're from.  Instead of going through a bazillion voicemails to get to the one you're looking for you can go directly to the one you want.  It's genius, I tell you!

I didn't think I'd use the iPod function of it very much but it's been sort of fun having it if you're out and about somewhere bored.

There are 12 stationary buttons on the front in addition to the phone, mail, internet and iPod buttons.  Included in these 12 buttons are buttons for weather, You Tube, and Google maps.  You Tube is sort of the like the iPod.  If you're bored then it's great that it's there to use.  The weather is fun - I check it every morning when I get up to see how Maddie and I should dress for the day.  The Google Maps are the bomb diggity - especially when your husband is stranded out at some fancy shmancy golf course in Toluca Lake at his Employee Party (last week) because someone thought that tailgaiting the car that he was in would be fun and they hit the car.  BOOOOO for stupid drivers.  I had to make a totally last minute trip out to get him and Google Maps saved the day.  Sort of like GPS I guess.

All in all?  I love my iPhone and while I had some major guilt about receiving such an expensive gift for my birthday I think it's worth every single penny.  I'll probably talk about some of the other cool features in the future.  In the meantime, if you're really bored and have about 15 minutes and are considering purchasing an iPhone be sure to watch the guided tour video on the Apple website.

Have a great weekend all!

Friday Favorites - Food Editon

Hi from Jersey all!  We are here safe and sound and trying to adjust to the time difference.  We are all still on SoCal time.  Abbie is being a trooper, but the plan ride had its moments.  I will tell you all more when we are back.  Right now Friday Favorites are more important!

Chipolte. YUMMY!  I am in love with  this place right now - especially their burrito bowls, guacamole and salty chips!  The food is fast, great quality and reasonably priced.  I can get a burrito bowl, guacamole, chips and regular drink for just under $10!  We have a fiend at work that says it is Subway for Mexican food because you go down an assembly line.  If you haven't been there before and its busy - take a breathe before you get in line and be prepared to make some very quick decisions or the bean lady will yell at you - just ask Nicole!  They are also very flexible with making basically anything you want for kids!  I believe these are across the country.

Yogurt Land.  This is for the SoCal locals.  You have to go here if you like frozen yogurt.  It is so much fun and yummy!  It is all self serve - the yogurt and the toppings and they have such a good selection of toppings - so much fresh yummy fruit!  And their Strawberry Tart is the best!  And the fun part of it all - they weight your yogurt when you are done - $.30 an ounce.  If you are in the area - you have to give it a try!

Flame Boiler.  I am not sure if these are only in SoCal or not, but if you are out of the area I would look at the web site and see.  The food is basic and yummy - Rice bowls with flame broiled meats and veggies with yummy sauces.  Basic, filling, good and healthy too!  And they are very reasonably priced and quick pick up  You can get a bowl with brown rice, all white meat chicken, beef and veggies for like $6.75ish.  It is a must try - you will get hooked!

Chick-fil-a.  We are behind the times here in SoCal with Chick-fil-a I know, but hello world!  This is the best fast chicken around and they have such great choices of sides to your combos too!  You can be bad and have fries or you can get a salad, fruit, soup, etc... you can have grilled or fried.  The meat is juicy, fresh tasting and all white meat.  Abbie loves the chicken too.  And for the locations that have play centers (at least here in California) are super clean.  Their customer service blows the other fast food places out of the water  - they give you chicken samples if you want them and when you go through the drive through with your dog they have bones for them - they even walk around an make sure all is ok.  If you are going for the 1st time I recommend that you try a #1 and if you are going for breakfast I recommend the mini chicken biscuit sandwhiches - I like them better then the large ones - different bread.  They are closed on Sundays and if you like sweet ice tea - try theirs - they have unsweetened too.  And these are across the US!

OK, all that is it for me - time for bed, we are getting up early to drive to Coopertown and visit the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Happy Friday the 13th!!

Friday Favorites - Bunny Style

Happy Friday all!

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday week and Erin being on indefinite hiatus (you know - pregnant, a toddler underfoot and a husband busy in training - the girl needs a serious break!), Bunny over at MotherBunny was nice enough to guest author Friday Favorites for us this week!  Yeah  Bunny!

Bunny’s Friday Favorites

M40826_pink_lilac_lobster

Now that it’s warm, I almost always wear flip flops and my favorite pair is these pink lobster flops from L. L. Bean.  They are a lot of fun and really comfortable.  I love that the straps are wide and actually sit back on my foot more than flops with a skinny strap.

Old_navy

Also in the spirit of summer comfort I have a couple of the Perfect Fit Tees from Old Navy.  I should have bought one in every color they have.  They are soft and extra long, so they make me look skinny by coming down over my mommy smooshy belly.

Camera
But my most favorite summer toy, by far, is my new Nikon D40x Digital SLR camera.  A whole new world of photography has opened up to me now.  Not only am I taking incredible pictures of my kids, but I am running around taking pictures of nothing just because it looks cool!  I bought mine at Costco because they had a great price for a bundle package with two lenses, a bag, and a 1G SD memory card.  The price at Amazon is pretty good, too.  I’m linking there, since Costco doesn’t offer the camera online.

Thank you Bunny!

Friday Favorities. Bulk Style.

Why is it bulk style you ask?  Because today I'm going to tell you all about my love for Costco!  My Friday Favorites today will be a little bit different than normal because I am just going to rattle off a bunch of reasons that I love Costco.  Most of them are food related.  I know you're all so surprised!

We are totally old school.  We didn't even have a Costco card until about 8 months ago.  I never wanted one because I was scared of all the crap I'd buy if I did get a card.  Well, we finally did end up breaking down and got a card and it's been great!  For the diapers and wipes alone it's great! I'm also old school because I think it seriously took me up until 8 months ago to also start referring to it as Costco and not as Price Club. Ummmm.... I'm pretty sure it's been Costco for years now, right?

We go probably twice a month and it's amazing but Alan doesn't seem to dislike our Costco trips.  This is a big deal for my guy!  I have to admit that all of the people do get annoying but it's not that bad overall.

As I said above I love the Huggies Diapers and Kirkland brand wipes.  Also, I LOVE their paper towels.  I love that there are like a gazillion rolls in a pack and that the rolls are gigantic!  I also love that the cost is so reasonable - like $12 or so maybe.  We go through SO many paper towels in our house so we really need that big-ass pack of them! Alan and I are also both obsessed with the bath towels that they carry inside the store. I beieve they're Martex brand and they're technically bath sheets which means they're huge and the best part is that they're only $11.99! Another reason to love Costco? They're my parent biggest work client and they keep them nice and busy at work so that's a great thing too!

On my last trip there I discovered that you can buy a roll of 100 stamps also.  Normally I don't make the big $41 investment all at once for stamps because it'll take me forever to go through them but I did this time and now I am stocked up for quite awhile.  I don't know how they do it but a roll of 100 $.41 cent stamps only cost me $40.75.  How DO they do it?!

They have great veggies, fruits and pre-made stuff.  They're carrying way more organic products which is awesome and have I mentioned the delicious hot dog and soda combo that they have at their snack bar for the low-low price of $1.50?  Seems wrong for me to mention organic and hot dog in the same sentence, no?  We purchased our big flat screen tv from Costco too and when we did that we upgraded our membership to an Executive membership and now we get 2% back on all of our purchases.  Fun!

So if you shop at Costco... what products do you love?  Tell me about them!

Delayed Friday Favorites

Sorry for the delay.  It was a busy, busy weekend!

Kiddie   This is our go to spot for pictures of Marley.  We have been taking her there since she was just a month old.  The photos come out great and they have so may options for borders and fun stuff.  I prefer this portrait studio to the Picture People, because the quality of the photos is so much better and the price is a bit better.  The only complaint that I have for Kiddie Kandids, is that they do not take appointments.  You cannot call in the day of and get a time slot and if you are a walk in, you will normally have a 1.5-2 hour wait.  It is hard to get the kids all ready for pictures and then make them wait around.  I do suggest that you walk in and reserve a time slot before you get the kid ready (they WILL let you do that)!

Outlast This is my lipstick of choice, CoverGirl Outlast.  I have been wearing it for about 7 years now.  The lip color "stains" your lips and then you have the gloss to shine it up through out the day.  Normally I need to only re-apply the color once after lunch.  Which is great, because I am kinda lazy when it comes to freshnin' up the make-up.  Miss Marley tried her hand at this lipstick when she was just over 2.

Lipstick_1 Lipstick_2 It was a nightmare to remove.  I had to rub her face with baby oil just to get the stuff off and that dress?  Yeah, it never came out!  Good times!  Now we just use the gloss and not the color for Miss M.

Sofft   I love, love, love these shoes!  So much in fact I need to go get more in different colors!  They are dressy enough for work and yet casual enough for the weekends.  Ever since I had my foot surgery to remove a heel spur, it has been difficult to find comfortable and cute shoes in a HUGE size 11!!  Thank God for Nordies and thank God for Sofft shoes!

Lifesaver I love me some Life Savers Pep-O-Mint!  I keep a big bag on my desk and I just love em!  Remember when we were kids and we would bite in to these in the dark to see the sparks?

So there you have it.  My Friday Favorites on Monday!  I am such a rebel!!

Friday Favorites

Sorry I really have been around this week here or on any or your blogs.  I have been so overwhelmingly busy at work.  I should be back next week.

Anywhere_chair

The My First Anywhere Chair from Pottery Barn.  We bought this for Abbie the Christmas before she was born and we are sooo happy we did.  She LOVES it!  It is light and easy to drag around - even for her!  She sits in it when she is watching TV and reading books.  She things it is so much fun.  The best part is it has a handle on the back, the cover coves off for easy machine washing and is so easy to take with you.  We take it to my in-laws house when she is going to be there all day.  They also make them for big kids too.  It is a  GREAT purchase!

Doraexplorer

Dora the Explorer!  ANYTHING!  Abbie is obsessed right now.  The instant the theme song comes on she is dancing - even if she is strapped into her car seat and we play the CD.  We have bathtub foam letters that she loves, books, little figures and DVD's.  The show keeps her attention the whole time and she laughs and dances along with.

80pxtivologo

Tivo!  I have always loved my Tivo and I think that I have shared my love of it here before, but right now I am really loving it.  You see we have Tivo'd tons of movies and TV shows from the season and are finally watching them now - which is perfect because there is NOTHING on TV right now.  Most Tivo's don't hold as many hours as ours do, but I have a computer smart hubby and he upgraded both our Tivo's to hold about 300 hours each!  Woohoooo!

Reef

Reef flip flops are my favorite show of choice - I wear them year round (You have to love living in SoCal) and they are so comfy and last forever!  I have them in multiple colors and strap designs and I usually by them over at Nordstroms - they have a great selection.  You feel like you are wearing slippers, but have more support.  I really don't wear any other flip flop anymore , unless I need something a little dressier in summer.  Those of you not in SoCal may laugh at me saying I need a dressier flip flop, but we wear them alot here and can get away with them in all different situations.  I have about 18 different styles and brands from my basic Reefs to fancy beaded ones.

Have a great weekend all!  We are looking forward to going to someone's 1st birthday party tomorrow!

PS... it has been such a crazy week of talking and not enough sleep that I have now lost my voice.  And I still have a staff training and meeting to do today - Yikes!
