It's time to say good-bye!

It has been a hard decision, but we are taking the leap.  We are closing the blog down at the end of the month.  The luster has faded and life has become busier (ok, really Facebook has just sucked us in) and we just haven’t had the drive or the interest to make time for the blog anymore.  Thank you to everyone for your friendship over the years here and on chicksthatchat.  We have had a blast and we will miss you!

We aren’t falling off the face of the earth though… we will see you over on your blogs and on Facebook!

Adios and Thank You!

A kick in the pants from our friend Chino Valdez

Nicole and I received this e-mail yesterday...

Dear Shootin' The Poop Moms,

Umm...what's going on? I understand that you all lead busy lives, I do. But this is getting a little ridiculous. Those of us that don't have children like to live vicariously through your stories. Every day, I go on your blog for an update and almost every day, I leave disappointed. I want to know how Andrea is doing. I want to know about MK's kiddo's first games this season. I want to know about Nicole's possible brush with the Swine Flu. Please, oh please, make this happen. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Chino Valdez

Hummmm....Do you think this should be our motivation to get posting again weekly?

Too much time on their hands

This morning I walked into my office and it was toilet papered.  Even pinned to the ceiling.  Do you think that my staff has to much time on their hands?  Please note that I have lots of HS and college kids that work for my full time staff - just incase you think that grown professional adults are doing this.

On another note...if you notice my absense one of these days it is because I have run away!  or died from listening to my daughter's whine!  I am starting to think that the 3 is worse then the 2!  Her teachers say that she uses her big girl voice all day.  My parents who babysit the kids one day a week say that she only gets whiny when she is over tired.  But the moment I walk through the door the whine starts with me.  The whine, the crying, the meltdown.  It started getting really bad about 2 weeks ago.  This morning I looked at Mike and told him that I can't do this anymore.  I am late to work every morning and the daylight savings time is definetly not helping any of this.  I walk away from her when I can and tell her that I will come back when she talks to me like a big girl.  The problem is when she does this in the am I don't have time - we run a VERY tight ship in the am to get us all out of the house at 6:30.  sigh.  I told Mike this am that we have to put her on time out the moment the first whine comes out of her mouth and tell her that she can get up when she is ready to talk and act like the big good girl she is.  Overall she is a good, smart, funny loving girl, but when the whine starts I loose it!  I know it could be worse, but I need this to stop and I defiently don't want it to carry on and she become a whiny 8 year old.  I have to nip this in the butt!  UGH!!!  What am I doing wrong?

Catch Up...

Well since Parker came into our lives 11 months ago I have been a HORRIBLE poster!  I give credit to those bloggers that have 2 kids, a full time job and still manage to post regularly.  Heck since Parker came I rarely even upload pictures for us to look at.  I am so bad!!!  So I will give you a quick update of our lives and give you a few pics that I actually have on the computer.  I will attempt to upload pics this week for up to date comings and goings as I know my real life and Facebook friends have seen these pics.

  • The kids had an amazing Christmas.  Abbie was so into it all- meeting Santa, putting goodies out for him and all the presents.  To this day she will tell me who gave her what when she wears or plays with it.  If she doesn't remember she asks.  That girl amazes me!  Parker had a great time too rolling around in all the paper and grabbing peoples boxes and gifts.  He is into everything!
  • Abbie turned 3 at the end of January.  We had a small party at the house with family, some of her home friends and 2 of her school friends.  She requested a princess cake and a jump house so we had them and she was in heaven.  She jumped in the house ALL day.  When the man was setting it she looked at him and then to him and said "Its Beautiful!"  She was even jumping in it when he came to pick it up 8 hours later.  She had a wonderful time running around with all her friends.  She received so many wonderful presents.  She is a very loved little girl.  My first baby seems like such a litle girl now.  I love her to pieces and we have been having so much fun lately.  She makes me laugh everyday!

  • Parker will be 1 at the end of this month!  I can't believe it!  We are having a big Angels Baseball party at the house for all our friends and family.  We will have a jump house again per Abbie's request with a baseball cake that Abbie has informed me that she is going to get him because she has money in her wallet.  I can't believe that one year has passed.  He truly is the best boy.  Always happy and content and so damn cute- always smiling!  God I love that boy!  I am so blessed with 2 wonderful children.

  • We are somehow managing to withstand the economic down turns.  Mike's company has had lay offs and he has no staff anymore, but he he still has a job.  We are praying it stays that way for both of us.  It is scary out there.  I feel like every family I know right now is being effected by the lay offs or pay cuts.  We are looking at them here at work for me too soon.

  • My parents got us Disneyland passes for Christmas and we are having the BEST time with them.  We go about ever other weekend for a few hours and head home right before nap time.  Abbie is in heaven and Parker is happy to be with us, even though he flipped out in Peter Pan yesterday... but was fine the moment we were off.  They have been the perfect gift for us.

  • At the end of the month we are taking a much needed vacation and staying home (that is what is in our budget and we need a break).  Our weekends are so jam packed that we need some down time as a family to play at home in the backyard and lay around the house together and see some family.  I am counting the days.

I think that catches you up... lame I know!  Here are a few pictures and I promise to do better next time.  I am a bit rusty!  Cut me some slack!

We did it! yeah!

Abbie is 100% potty trained!  Wooohoooo!!!!  She even goes into the bathroom by herself, goes and washes her hands!  She is such a big girl now.  She also gets to move up rooms now at school and cut with scissors!  Yikes!  That really makes her seem old in my eyes.  The only catch to this whole potty training thing- she is scared of public restrooms!  I mean- freak out scream scared.  So she potties in a portable potty in the back of our car and then we toss the bag out.  I never thought I would be one of those parents that has their kids peeing in the car like in those Leaps and Bounds catalogs you get in the mail.  But it works and she is happy so we go with it.

Lets just hope that she isn't peeing in the car at 10!
