No Induction This Week

I went to monitoring this morning and had an ultrasound to check fluid and all is good.  Then I went and saw my doctor (YEAH I made it through his vacation!!) and he checked me and I am only 1-2 cm and 60% effaced so he doesn't want to induce at this time because I am not progressed enough. So no Nugget this week (unless he/she decides to come on his/her own). I go back to the doctor on Tuesday next week.

On another note--we decided to donate the cord blood instead of banking it for ourselves so I call up the donation place and I am ineligible to donate the cord blood because I had cancer. I was so upset--I felt defective. I got off the phone and I started bawling (dumb hormones). Here we were trying to do a good thing and once again STUPID CANCER messes it up.

That's all for now--I promise to keep you all updated!

I am having a baby THIS month...

OMG--how crazy is that!

No new news--my doctor is on vacation next week so everyone pray that Nugget doesn't decide to come tomorrow through the 11th. I see the nurse practitioner next week and my doctor on the 12th and he will check my progress and see if an induction make sense. Still going to monitoring twice a week.

Everything else is good--going to try and get some date nights in this weekend and next just in case!!

Have a good weekend!!!

Do I really sound that young?

I am working from home today and the phone rings and here is how the conversation goes:

Stacey: Hello

Stacey: Hello?

Salesperson: Oh Hi! Is your mom or dad available?

Stacey: Nope!

Salesperson: OK thanks.

I didn't lie--they weren't available!! :)

YEAH!! Made my day! Now if I can just get carded! Oh wait--I can't drink right now!  Darn!

35 Weeks, 1 Day

So I have been going to monitoring twice a week and haven't had any news to report but last Thursday and Monday I have something to report!  I had two contrax both days while I was hooked up.  It was nice to have some activity since there hasn't been any at all.

Then, I have my doctors visit after my Monday monitoring and I was talking to the doctor and asked him my questions (are you going on vacation? when do I call with contrax, etc.) and got all my answers--by the way, I can't have this baby the first week of August since my doctor is on vacation.  Then he goes to measure me---two weeks ago I was measuring right on track at 34 and this week---I am measuring 37!!!! He is already guessing that this kid is already about 6 pounds. I see him again next Monday (7/28) and he will send me for a growth ultrasound but there has already been talk of an induction.

Then on Tuesday night I had a contrax--no big deal. Then I had another (at this point Dale noticed it was 9:00 exactly), then another at 9:07 and then another at 9:14 so I get up from the couch and go and lay down in the bed and they went away.  I was a little bit freaking out!!!

So, needless to say, we may find out if this kid is a boy or girl sooner than later!

31 weeks and counting...

So let me tell you what's been happening with me and Little Nugget. I have been spotting again (started about a week and half ago) so I am now officially working from home until Nugget comes (or I can't stand working anymore). The nurse first told me that I was done with work completely (I was freaking out since we just had started training my coordinator on my stuff) but after talking to my doctor on Monday I can work from home. YEAH! I had to get an ultrasound (everything was fine) and I have to get monitored twice a week (every Monday and Thursday) for contractions. I haven't had any until today which was a little one that I didn't even feel.

So let me tell you about Dale---he started a new job today (not that we need anymore change)!! I am so excited for him as it is a great opportunity for him. His old job was good but no room to grow so this is a really good thing.

We started cleaning out the spare room to make room for the changing table and crib.  Not sure if it will be 100% Nugget's room since we have already outgrown our apartment but it will be functional.  We are hoping to move before the end of the year (yeah on the lower housing costs) so he/she will have his/her own room sooner rather than later!

That's all from me--I promise to update more often.

May 09, 2008

I think it is my turn for an update!!!

I am 25 weeks, 1 day today!!!  Only 14 weeks, 6 days to go (babies come exactly on their due date, right?) My only complaint so far--sleeping. Sleeping is getting more difficult (although, last night was GREAT!) I have a body pillow that helps a lot (it keeps me off my back and tummy) but my hips get so sore from laying on them all night.  So for the past few weeks I have been putting a smaller pillow under my hips which works well until I have to change to the other side. Here I am at 2:00 AM trying to maneuver a large body pillow, a smaller pillow for my hip and the two pillows under my head all without waking my husband.  Needless to say, I don’t do a good job of it.  Then just as I am thinking that I comfortable I realize I have to go to the bathroom (I am the person who used to NEVER get up in the middle of the night to go pee—now it happens almost every night and I know it is going to get worse) and it makes me mad.  So at this point I am up. What can I do?  I can’t turn on the TV, or turn on the light to read so I bust out my iPhone and see what is going on at 2:00 AM.  Usually not much but at least it keeps me occupied for about an hour or two until I get sleepy and fall back to sleep.  I know this is just to get me ready for when little nugget comes but let me just tell you—THIS SUCKS!!! I miss my sleep. I love my sleep.

(I know you moms are laughing right now ‘cause the worse is yet to come. I totally understand that—but can’t I just get some good sleep now????)

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the mothers!!!

20 Weeks, 4 days...

I meant to post last week but I forgot my login information (BABY BRAIN!!) but I figured it out today!

Last Monday we went for our Big Ultrasound. It was great--we got to see all four chambers of the heart, kidneys, bladder, arms, legs, toes, fingers, head, face (it was a regular U/S--not a 3 or 4D kind)--it was awesome and made things more real.

So we had the tech write down the gender on a piece of paper and had her put it in an envelope. As of now, we are not going to open it.  So we still refer to him or her as "little nugget".

Needless to say, we are getting offers for people to hold on to it for us everyday!! I let Dale hide the envelope since I don't trust myself.

So if we hang tough, we won't know what little nugget is until the third week (or so) of August.

Stay tuned...

Tickle, Tickle

Well yesterday I felt the first tickle in my belly. And NO it wasn't gas!! HAHA! It happened twice about 20 minutes apart while I was sitting at my desk. I had to stop and just sit there to see if it really was the baby and from what everyone says, it sounds like it was. It even made me scratch my stomach!

It was cool. I can't wait to feel it again.

New to this whole thing...

So I am the new girl. I have been friends with Nicole, MK and Andrea for years and now I am joining the club.  That’s right, I am pregnant.  I am just about 16 weeks along and am due August 21st with my first child.  We are not finding out the sex so we all have to wait until then to see what pops out! HAHA!

I had a little bit of a rough start—I had a subchorionic hemorrhage that put me on bed rest for a total of about four weeks but all is good now.  We have seen and heard the heartbeat and all seems fine.

A little background on me and my husband, Dale--we have been married for almost two and a half years, we met at work (I don't work there anymore) and we are hoping to buy a house (or condo or townhome) before the baby comes.

I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and asking for help from all of you! I am going to need all the help I can get.
