Foreshadowing

MK and I both started Weight Watchers a few weeks ago.  Remember when I mentioned that one might get knocked up if they started Weight Watchers?  Ummmmmm.  Yeah.  Anyways.

Stay tuned... if you're all nice, we just might share WHO with you tomorrow!

PS... If you email me or MK (no matter how nice you or how much we like you), our lips are sealed until we blog about it tomorrow!

Have a great day!

WW Tuesday Check-In

Dieting sucks.  Well, losing weight rocks.  But the actual diet?  It sucks.

Ok.  I'll stop complaining now.  At least for long enough to tell you all that I lost 5 pounds this past week.  5 pounds.  Woohoo!  The first week was rough trying to get past all of my cravings and everything but this week is already shaping up to be much, much easier.  I've joined Spark People and it's been a fun tool to track what I eat and also any activity that I do.  I haven't had that much time to spend on there yet but it's really cool because you can join teams and make friends.  I'm all about making internet friends!

When I diet I like to put things into perspective as far as how much weight I'm losing.  So far I've lost 2/3 of a newborn Maddie.  I'm looking forward to when I have lost, say, a 10-lb bag of potatoes or even better... a 14 month old Maddie (who by the way weighs about 24 lbs.)!

And now, words of wisdom from my 17 year old sister who I was discussing my diet with yesterday.  She told me that she doesn't have a big appetite.  She has a big tastebud.  Amen, sister!

Back on the Wagon

Uuugh.  It's here.  The return of the diet.  Booooooo for being fat.  And booooooo for being on diets.  But yayyyyyy for hopefully shedding a little bit of weight and for hopefully feeling like a hot biotch once again.  MK and I both started Weight Watchers yesterday.  Do you know what happened the last time I started Weight Watchers?  I got knocked up!

I successfully made it past my first day and all in all it wasn't that bad.  I'll report back next Tuesday after I have a full week under my belt.

This is going to be short as it's a crazy week this week and I will be out of the office on Wednesday and Thursday conducting interviews which means I have to complete 5 days of work in only two, which means my blogging needs to be short and sweet!

Alan had his oncologist appointment yesterday and everything looks great, so that is just AWESOME news!  Alan said his oncologist was more interested in looking at his iPhone than talking about his health.  She's always super thorough, so I think overall it's a good thing because she thinks that he is a healthy, healthy boy!  He goes back towards the end of the year for a CT scan, so that'll be the super important visit since it includes a scan.

We went to the park this past weekend and took some pictures of the girl.  Here they are... enjoy!

Randomy Gooey Goodness

I have so much random crap floating through my head today.  I'll try to remember it all!

Remember Tubby Tuesdays?  Yeah, me too.  Well, I remember but my fat ass is trying really hard to not remember.  I'm hoping that we'll have a return to Tubby Tubby's really soon.  Like next week soon.  Alan's dad was in town this weekend and we took out some old pictures.  Damn, I was skinny!  Ok, so my eyebrows were really big and needed a good pluck but my ass was wayyyyyyy smaller.  I'm planning on starting my diet again on Thursday.  Why Thursday you ask?

Because tomorrow is Fourth of July, which is also my birthday!  It's hard getting old because my mom had to remind me how old I will be.  My little sister was asking how old I was going to be and I told her 31.  Honestly, I 100% thought I was turning 31.  Um, yeah.  Wrong.  32.  I will be 32 tomorrow.  When did I get so old?  And scary too is that Alan will be 34 later this month.  We're both old!  Oh yeah, and Scooter just turned 4 on Sunday.  He's still a young man I guess.

Most of you know that Alan has an awful drive to work.  Like an hour and a half each way and it sucks.  Well, this week he finally started taking the train.  It's a great deal because his work will either pay for his parking pass if he drives or they'll pay for an unlimited train pass for the month which would normally cost like $170!  He gets free transportation AND we don't have to pay for gas.  We went and got a laptop card from our cellphone provider so that he can be online while on the train.  He'll technically be working at least on the way home from work but who cares!  This will save his sanity AND money!

On the way to work this morning the guy in the car next to me was brushing his teeth.  WTH?

Maddie has been so cute lately.  Everytime we go anywhere she is constantly waving and saying "HIIIIIIIIIII!" to everyone.  We were eating at Nordstrom Cafe on Sunday and she kept waving, smiling and saying Hi to the two ladies sitting next to us.  This kid just breaks my heart she's sooooooo cute!

No Tubby Updates this week...

No real Tubby Tuesday updates this week, because....  I had a fat ass weekend!

Saturday night my uncle threw a surprise 40th b-day party for my aunt at the Coto Country Club.  The only reason that I mention where it was because that is where the Real Housewives of Orange County live!  (You know you are so jealous I was that close to the housewives!) Mike's sister watched Abbie so we could have a grown up night out.

First we went to my hair dressers house for drinks - we were classy - Crystal Light Lemonade and Grey Goose Vodka!..lol... for those that know our hairdresser have to love it!  She says she came up with it because it has no carbs!

Then we were off to the party where we hung out with my family, drank yummy wine and danced to a fun 70's band that always plays at another one of my aunt and uncles Christmas parties...They are called the Polyester Pimps and they are so much fun!

Img_2332

These are some of my cousins with the band - they were actually the only kids there.

But of course the yummy wine caught up with me Sunday morning.  Ugh the hangover and my daughter that woke up at 6:30am!  Thanks goodness I have a wonderful husband that got up and and took care of her while I slept and then went and got me a greasy Sausage McMuffin from McDonald's and has browns!  Yummy for my hangover, but so bad for my diet.  My eating didn't get any better the rest of the day.  I won't even tell you about the chips I ate when i got home Saturday night.

Speaking of fast food - the Krispy Creme by my house closed and I just saw the sign that it is going to be a Chick-Fil-A!  Woohooo!  I love me some Chick-Fil-A!  The closest one to our house right now is 30-40 minutes away!

So I don't plan on weighing myself until the end of the week- I am sure I will have an update for you next week and Nicole should be back on track with a Tubby post then too - she has been home taking care of a sick Maddie!  Poor girl!

PS.... the hangovers hurt so much more now then they did in my 20's when I went to the bar A LOT! *sigh*

PPS... I also won't tell you about the mounds of fries and ranch I ate at the party after all the yummy wine.

Tubby Tuesday Ya'll!

Welcome to another installment of Tubby Tuesdays my friends!

Well, it has been 2 weeks as of yesterday and I have lost 6.5 pounds so far!  This puts me at 16.5 pounds lighter then my pre-baby weight.  I am not telling you how much I weight though!  That is between me, God and my scale.  Ok, I told Mike, but only because he knew how much I weighted all through my pregnancy and we basically always weight the same - except when I was pregnant  - He put on 10 pounds and I put on 21 during that time.

And you know that I am 16.5 pounds skinnier then when I got pg with Abbie, but my pre-pg pants fit me the same!  How does that work!  Thank you Abbie and c-section!

I need to start working out too!  That is probably the clothes problem!

I have been doing Weight Watchers myself at home. I have all the books and slider from doing it in the past.  I know what do and I didn't want to spend the money on going to the meetings.  There are a few people here at work that are also doing it and Nicole is watching her food intake, so it has helped.  I have even cheated a few times with Carl's Jr and cookies this week.  I feel this time around like it is so much easier and I don't feel in a huge rush to lose it fast.  I am pegging along and having a few tastes of things here and there so that I don't fall off the deep end. Once I lose 18.5 more, I will see if I will just try maintain or lose more.

Nicole and I were both saying that it is much easier this time around for us - she says that we have both just decided that we don't want to be fat asses anymore.  I think she's right!

I also received an e-mail from Nicole this morning and she has lost 10 pounds!  Woohooo!!!!  I believe Alan said he would give her a prize for every 10 pounds lost - I wonder what it will be!  I am sure she will keep us posted.

Andrea - how did you do on your first week of WW?

Erin - how are you feeling on the opposite end?

Detached Rumpus Room

We've spent the better part of the past two weekends looking at houses.  And ya know what?  Houses are damn expensive!  We've driven through so many neighborhoods that when we were trying to go to sleep on Saturday night neither of us could sleep because we kept having visions of houses flashing in our heads.  Uuugh.  You know what I like best about house hunting?  Those informational flyers that seem to be attached to the poles of the real estate "for sale" signs out in front of the houses.  Seriously.  The way that they describe the houses on some of these flyers is hilarious!  A few of my faves from this past weekend:

  • Detached Rumpus Room (um... does anyone actually know what this is?  Sounds dirty to me)
  • Peek a Boo City Lights View (means you can't see shit unless you're standing in the exact right spot of the yard at the exact right time of the day with the most optimal weather conditions)
  • Diamond In The Rough (piece.of.crap.  But we still want you to pay us $979,000 for this ugly ass bright yellow house)
  • Romantic Rock Fireplace (seriously.  Is it really that romantic?  It's a fireplace for God's sake!)

In other news... it's Tubby Tuesday y'all!  I'm definitely making progress, so as long as I'm moving in the right direction I'll be happy.  As of this past weekend I am down a total of 7 pounds.  At 10 pounds I get a surprise of some sort from my husband.  He's promised me a surprise at every 10 pound interval to help keep me motivated which is really nice.  It's a good thing he didn't ask me what I would want as my surprise because I probably would've told him cupcakes which I think defeats the purpose of this whole thing, don't you?

It's Tubby Tuesday, Y'All!

Guess what?  My fat ass officially has it's own day dedicated to it on our blog now!  We're full of fun theme days here lately at Shootin' The Poop!

I know you're all probably dying to know exactly what Tubby Tuesday entails, right?  Well, there are no hard and fast rules to Tubby Tuesday except that you have to talk about weight either losing (me and MK hopefully) or in Erin's case, gaining weight!

I had lost all of my pregnancy weight and then put back on about 10 pounds after I finished nursing.  I'm more than a little bit uncomfortable in my clothes and body lately so I figured it was time to do soemthing about it.  I've been on my "diet" for exactly three weeks now.  My progress so far?  5 lbs.  What "diet" am I doing you ask?  It's called the "slow down fat ass and don't eat everything you see" diet.  Seriously though, I'm not doing Weight Watchers or Atkins or anything like that.  I'm just trying to stop pigging out, making bad choices and concentrate on smaller portion sizes.  So far it seems to be working.  MK and I are going to try to start incorporating walking into our lunch hours a few days a week.

My biggest weakness seems to be snacking at work, so I've been trying to have healthier snacks handy such as cottage cheese, kashi bars, fruit, veggies, etc.  Does anyone have any great snack suggestions for me?  Does anyone have any awesome diet advice to give?

My favorite meal that I'm totally back on?  Veggie sandwiches!  Seriously... who needs meat when something tastes this good?
